FRAMINGHAM – The National Weather Service in Boston issued a winter storm watch for Wednesday at 3:55 a.m. today, Feb. 6.
Forecasters are predicting 4 to 8 inches of snow with the possibility of 1/10 inch of ice for Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening, February 7.
Snow is expected to develop mid to late morning and will be heavy at times in the afternoon.
Snowfall rates of 1 inch per hour are possible.
The snow will change to sleet then freezing rain mid to late afternoon, and possibly all rain in some locations by evening.
The precipitation may change back to snow before tapering off around midnight.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
