Flyers Gymnastics Team Defeats Braintree To Go 6-1 This Season

HOLLISTON – The Framingham High gymnastics team won its sixth meet of the season defeating Braintree High last night at Shen’s gymnastics in Holliston.

“We got our season high of 140.6” points, said captain Bryn McIlhenny.

The Flyers are now 6-1.


Captain Sophie Rich placed first on the vault with a 9.35. She was also tied for first on the uneven bars with a 8.9. and second on the balance beam with a 9.0.

Captain Rachel Lew was placed second on vault with a 8.9, and second on the floor exercises with an 8.9.

Freshmen Angela Burke placed first on balance beam with a 9.05.

Senior Mary Connolly also finished first on the uneven bars with a 8.9.

“It is amazing to see all the hard work we have been doing pay off,” said McIlhenny. “I’m so proud that we were able to hit 140!”

The team has a junior varsity meet tomorrow against Needham.
The varsity team will host Walpole High on Friday, feb. 2. at Shen’s in Holliston at 7.
