FRAMINGHAM – Kevin Lenzi, a senior at Framingham High, and a member of Boy Scout Troop #12 of Framingham, has earned the Eagle Scout Rank, the highest rank in Boy Scouts. This is the culminating award for work done over many years in Scouting.
Lenzi achieved this rank with his final project at the Plymouth House Nursery School, which Lenzi attended as a youth.
Eagle Scout candidates choose a community service project that suits their interests and abilities.
Lenzi’s Scoutmaster commented “it was exciting to see Kevin develop his plans, research possible designs and then lead a team of people to complete the worked required to transform the playground. Having the childhood connection with the Plymouth House as well as Kevin’s passion for community service made this both a memorable and very successful event.”
New benches, easels, and plant boxes were built to renovate the playground after safety regulations caused many pieces to be removed.
Scouts and parents from Troop 12, as well as family and friends came together to work under his leadership to complete the goals of this project.
Kathy Watson, Director the Plymouth House Nursery School said “Kevin has grown into such a wonderful young man. The work he did for our nursery school was the nicest thing anyone has done for me in my 37 years here.”
A ceremony will be held on Monday, February 26 at Plymouth Church in Framingham.
