WALPOLE – The Framingham High gymnastics team won its fifth meet of the season last night defeating Norwood High.
The Flyers had a season high 136.35 points, said one of its captains Bryn McIlhenny.
The final scores was 136.35 to 130.8.
Framingham is now 5-1.
Flyers captain Sophie Rich finished second on the vault with a 9.05, tied for first on uneven bars with a 8.4, was second on balance beam with a 9.3, and third on floor exercises with an 8.6.
Sophomore Sara Anastasi placed second on floor exercises with a 9.3.
Freshmen Angela Burke placed third on vault with an 8.7, and finished third on balance beam with an 9.15.
“Going into the meet, we knew we had to hit our routines because Norwood is a great team. Everyone definitely tried their best, and the outcome was amazing,” said Flyers Captain Rachel Lew. “I am so proud of all the girls. All their hardwork at practice is showing in their scores.”
Next up for Framingham is a home meet against Braintree at Shen’s Gymnastics in Holliston.
