FRAMINGHAM – Senior captain Cole Bassett, sophomore Leone Kisler, and sophomore Chance Yan all were double winners in the Framingham High boys swim team’s victory over Newton North on Tuesday.
Also during the meet, senior captain Sean Andrews broke the Framingham High School boys diving record with 287.7 points. He won the event for the Flyers.
The Flyers won the meet 104 to 76.
The Flyers won 11 of the 12 events to go 5-1 on the season.
Next up for the swim and dive team is a meet Thursday against the Red Hawks at Natick High. The seniors will be honored after the meet, which starts at 4:30 p.m.
Framingham opened the meet winning the medley relay in 1:46.34. Newton finished second, with Framingham also taking third place.
Swimmers on the winning relay were Bassett, Justin Lu, Yan and senior Eli Gazda
On the third place relay was Mason Matzker, Cole Geiser, Shawn LaFountain, and Tristan Wilcox.
Framingham swept the 200-yard freestyle event, with senior Nick Hulsman winning in 2:03.26 minutes. Senior captain Aidan O’Leary was second and Jake Audoin was third.
The Flyers also swept the individual medley event. Sophomore Kisler won the event in 2:12.40 minutes with Gaza second at 2:12.57 minutes. Lu finished third in 2:15.76 minutes.
Bassett won the sprint event in 22.33 second. Newton took second and third place in the 50-yard freestyle. Wilcox was fourth in 25.33 seconds for the Flyers.
Framingham’s Derek Carl finshed third in diving with a score of 185.40 points.
Yan won the butterfly event in 55.26 seconds. LaFountain finished third in 1:05.02 minutes for Framingham.
Bassett also won the 100-yard freestyle event. His time was 49.21 seconds.
Kisler won the 500-yard freestyle event in 5:23.33 minutes. O’Leary finished second for Framingham in 5:57.32 minutes. Junior Talon Hayes finished fifth in 6:44 minutes.
The Flyers won the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:36.96 minutes. On the winner relay was Yan, O’Leary, Kisler, and Bassett.
Framingham swept the backstroke event with Yan winning the race in 59.31 seconds. Husman was second in 1:00.64 minutes and Matzker was third in 1:03.71 minutes.
Newton’s Will Riley won the 100-yeard breaststroke event in 1:03.15 minutes. Framingham captured a deep sweep finishing second-third-fourth.
Lu was second in 1:06.75 minutes, Gazda was third in 1:07.53 minutes. Geiser was fourth in 1:09 minutes flat.
Framingham won the final meet of the night – the 400-yard freestyle in 3:48.88 minutes. Swimmers on the winning relay were O’Leary, Kisler, Hulsman, and Gazda.
