FRAMINGHAM – Ave Maria (Galvani) Mancini, 89, a longtime resident of Framingham died on Friday, January 19, 2018 from complications due to a stroke.
Born in Castell Arquato, Italy, she was the daughter of Gina (Ravazzola) Galvani who survives her and the late John Galvani.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Mancini.
She immigrated with her parents to Framingham at the age of 3 and attended Framingham schools.
Soon after WWII, at the age of 18, she married Joseph and settled down to raise her family.
She worked for some time at the Bancroft Corp. making hats.
Family came first for Ave Maria. She was a great cook and homemaker and an extremely giving person. She had a knack for being able to keep in touch with friends and family, and very much enjoyed traveling.
Besides her mother Gina, she is survived by her son, John P of Framingham, her grandchildren, Andrea J. of Marlborough, Daniel J & his wife Katie of Shrewsbury, and Anthony J. of NYC, her great granddaughter Kensington L., her daughter-in-law, Darlene of Hopedale, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her son Joseph C., and her brother Carlo Galvani & his wife Caroline.
Family and friends will honor and remember her life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street in Framingham, on Wednesday, January 24 from 4to 8 p.m.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverly Street on Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery.
