FRAMINGHAM – Just before the first-ever City of Framingham inauguration on January 1, former School Committee member and former District 5 City Council candidate Cheryl Gordon announced her run for Framingham City Council in District 5 in 2019.
She would be challenging now City Council Chair Dennis Giombetti, who is the District 5 City Councilor.
District City Council candidates were elected to 2-year terms in November 2017.
Gordon lost to Giombetti and candidate Robert Case in the preliminary election in September 2017.
“Happy New Year! I am a candidate for elected city office next year. I will continue to keep District 5 updated on district news. Early donations are greatly appreciated! No amount is too small! $5, $10, $25+ will be very appreciated,” wrote Gordon on January 1 at 11 a.m.
Gordon told Source Wednesday morning, she may consider a run for School Committee in District 5 or City Council in District 5, but plans to run for office in her district in 2019.
