Free Citizenship Clinic on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

FRAMINGHAM – In celebration of citizenship, service, and the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., trained AmeriCorps members and volunteers will be offering FREE citizenship application assistance, supervised by Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA) staff at the Brazilian-American Center (BRACE) on Route 135 in Framingham.

The event is Monday, January 15 from 10 a.m. to noon. Application process may take up to 3 hours to complete.

Organizers said this is an opportunity for individual to find out if they qualify for citizenship and prepare their application.

Walk-ins will be allowed.

To be eligible for assistance, you must:
* Have been a legal permanent resident (green card holder) for 5 years (or 3 years if married to US citizen)
* Have no serious problems with the law
*  Speak, write, and read basic English (some may be eligible for an exemption)
