5 Things You Need To Know Today in the City of Framingham: January 1, 2018

1  Happy New Year! Welcome 2018 and the City of Framingham!




2.  The first-ever City of Framingham inauguration will be held at noon inside Nevins Hall at the Memorial Building.

The public is invited to the free event. The doors open at 11:15 a.m.

Mayor-elect Yvonne Spicer, the new 11-member City Council, and the new 9-member School Committee wil be sworn in during the ceremony. For the program, click here.



3. There will be no trash collection today in Framingham. Trash collection will be on a one-day delayed schedule this week.


4. As of today, there is a ban on plastic bags in Framingham. Town Meeting passed the bylaw in 2016. Click here for more details.
