Warriors Defeat Flyers 61-39; Poku and Small-Brown Qualify For State Meet

BOSTON – The Brookline High School girls indoor track team defeated Framingham High yesterday at the Reggis Lewis Center in Boston.

The Warriors won 61-39.

The Flyers are now 0-2, under new head coach Ed Crowley.

Framingham High juniors Leche Small-Brown and Grace Poku qualified for the state track meet, in the dash.

Small-Brown won the event in 7.53 seconds. Poku finished second in the 55-yard dash in 7.63 seconds.

The Flyers finished first in the 4 X 200 relay with junior captain Laura Walkup, Poku, senior captain Zoie Carter, and Small-Brown in the heat.

Carter won the 300 in 43.82 seconds for Framingham.

Junior captain Clara Small won the 600 in 1:54 minutes for the Flyers.

Framingham sophomore Tess Robinson finished third in the 1000. Her time was 3:27.47 mintes.

Walkup won the high jump with a leap of 4-feet, 7 inches. Framingham freshman Shannon Walker  finished second at 4-feet, 3 inches.

Walkup finished second in the long jump at 14-feet, 5-inches. Walker finished third at 12-feet, 10-inches.

Junior Iliana Munoz finished second in the shot put with a throw of 25-feet, 6-inches for Framingham.

The Flyers will compete in the State Team Pentathlon and the Speed Classic on December 29 at the Reggis Lewis Center.
