Helen (Paux) Sarnosky, 89

FRAMINGHAM – Helen A. (Paux) Sarnosky, 89, of Framingham, died on Thanksgiving, November 23, 2017.

She was the wife of the late John F. Sarnosky, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

Born September 26, 1928 in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Grace (Ryan) Paux.

She has been a resident of Framingham for more than 65 years.

Raised and educated in the Woonsocket area, she began working as a waitress at an early age of 16.

She met the love of her life at a town dance.

They moved to Framingham after their marriage in 1950.

She was a waitress for many years at some Framingham icons, The Maridor and Sea N’ Surf.  She then worked at Jordan Marsh and Filene’s.

Helen and John worked well into retirement offering shelter and guidance for men in recovery, in need of a safe place to live.

She was a longtime parishioner of St. Stephen’s Church, and a member of the Catholic daughters.

She was an active member of Al-anon for over 40 years, always willing to help others at any time.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, card games, camping with friends and always talking on the phone.

She is survived by 7 children, John Sarnosky and his wife Angela of Medway, Patricia Morin of Randolph, Stephen Sarnosky of Framingham, Vincent Sarnosky and his wife Shawnie of Southborough,. Judith Coots and husband Orlo of Raymond, NH, Elaine Oliveira and husband Lael of Framingham and Susan Ball and husband Nick of Ashland; one brother Henry Paux and wife Joan of FL; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Daniel Sarnosky of Framingham.

Relatives and friends will honor and remember Helen’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street in Framingham on Sunday, November 26 from 2-6  p.m.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Stephen’s Church, 221 Concord Street on Monday morning at 10 a.m

Interment will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Helen’s memory to St. Patrick’s Manor, 863 Central St. Framingham, MA 01701.  The hard working and devoted staff have taken care of her very well for the past 4 years.
