FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public Schools will be looking to replace two elementary school principals for the 2018-19 school year.
McCarthy Elementary has begun its second search for a principal, and today, November 17, Potter Road Elementary principal Paula Del Prete announced she will retire from the district, after three-plus decades in the Framingham Public Schools.
“Given the anticipated need for school leadership guidance framed by strong institutional knowledge of our schools and city, I have asked Ms. Del Prete to assume an additional role of Mentor Principal for the Framingham Public Schools,” said Framingham Superintendent Bob Tremblay.
“Beginning in January, Del Prete will begin this dual role of Principal and Mentor Principal and will spend time each week to become familiar with the cultures of all elementary schools in Framingham while developing a Leadership Pipeline and Mentoring Program to support the anticipated administrative vacancies within the district,” said Tremblay.
On the days that Del Prete will be in other schools in the district, Potter Road Assistant Principal Larry Wolpe will assume additional administrative responsibilities, said Tremblay.
As a result of this shift, the position for Potter Road Elementary School Principal will be posted immediately and the District will engage in staff and community focus groups prior to establishing a Screening Committee made up of all stakeholders, including Potter Road staff and parents, to obtain the most qualified candidate.
