FRAMINGHAM – Hemenway Elementary’s 2nd Annual Fun Run was a huge success, raising more than $22,000 for the school for the second year in a row.
The students spent one week learning about the Fun Run theme, Castle Quest. All students became a true hero while conquering the character traits of: focus, self-awareness, respect, trustworthiness, creativity, and life learner.
Families, friends, and supporters joined the students on October 18 for the fun run event and cheered while the students ran a combined 943 miles.
“Hemenway students had a wonderful time at Fun Run 2017! Thank you to all of our wonderful parents, guardians, grandparents, aunts and uncles who came to cheer the Hemenway students as they completed their laps. “Stripes”, our mascot, joined the children in completing their laps on a picture perfect fall day. Smiles, team work and enthusiasm by all ruled the day!” – Principal Liz Simon
Hemenway PTO would like to thank all the students supporters, water volunteers, corporate sponsors that provided Hemenway Tiger t-shirt to every student, said Hemenway PTO Co-President Christine Chipolone
Hemenway PTO would also like to thank the Framingham State University Hockey Team for volunteering their time at the Fun Run again this year, said Chipolone.
