FRAMINGHAM – Elizabeth “Betty” M. (Shanahan) Zontini, died Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Countryside Nursing Home, Framingham.
She was the wife of the late Arthur M. Zontini, Sr. who died in 1989.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Gay) Shanahan.
Zontini worked at the V.A. Hospital in W. Roxbury, Cushing Hospital in Framingham and in the Town of Wellesley as a nutritionist. She loved volunteering at the South Yarmouth Senior Center, as well as playing cards and Bingo.
She is survived by her children, Arthur M. Zontini, Jr. of Tewksbury and Lisa Howes and her husband Robert of Framingham; Grandchildren, Joseph Howes of Framingham, Timothy Howes of Shrewsbury, Kristina Zontini of Littleton, NH and Stephen Zontini and his wife Katie of Chicago. She is also survived by her sister, Florence Aubin of Long Island, NY, sister-in-law, Joan Shanahan of Worcester and many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews, who lovingly nicknamed her “Zambo”
She was the brother to the late George Shanahan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Friday, November 3, at the Norton Funeral Home in Framingham from 8 to 9:20 a.m. followed by her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverly Street in Framingham.
Burial will follow at St. Tarcisius Cemetery, Framingham.
