John Stefanini’s dedication and vision made Cushing Park a tribute to our veterans and a jewel to use for many generations.
But for John’s tireless efforts as chair of the Cushing Task Force, chair of the Board of Selectmen and as our State Representative, this open space would not have been preserved. This was not an easy project.
I know first hand of John’s work because I was there in 1991 when Cushing Hospital was closed and its future use was up for grabs.
Other state hospitals were closed and they stayed vacant for years.
John’s knowledge of the blight of other sites, combined with his willingness to tackle a tough issue resulted in the “gem” we all enjoy today. There were many competing and conflicting interests, and John was there to help us face hard questions and determine the next steps. He brought people together with differing views. He listened and empowered others to facilitate difficult conversations to arrive at a common goal. John brought neighbors, local and state officials to the table to get the job done!
John has spent a lifetime working hard for our community.
This is why I am supporting John Stefanini for Mayor of Framingham.
