LETTER: School Committee Candidate Goldstein Will Work To Improve Communication

I am whole heartedly endorsing Sheryl Goldstein for School Committee of District 3.

Not only is her unwavering passion obvious when it comes to children, but her advocacy is one of a history of action.

Many people talk about making changes and complaining, Sheryl focuses on figuring out what needs to be done and then gets to work. She is Co-Chair at Framingham Special Education Parent Advisory Council, and the Founder of Parent Empowerment Advocates, two great examples of her relentless work in improving the communication for parents, schools and helping their families in and out of the school environment.

Through Parent Empowerment Sheryl is currently working diligently to bring a pilot program to the school system for a more measured early intervention approach. Sheryl has been a strong Advocate for bringing the most modern scientific understanding of learning to the schools in a systematic and consistent manner.

Today many schools do not have the same support system and understanding in many situations, especially for children with special needs or unique learning abilities.

Currently there are several challenges that parents are facing, poor communication and consistency throughout the various schools are just two of them.

Sheryl is also an Activist, working with Decoding Dyslexia, a parent-led grassroots movement for Dyslexia. Children and families in the
Framingham School system are in great need of someone strong enough and knowledgable enough to make long lasting and positive change. Sheryl is the person that will not only communicate proposed metric improvements, but will be up before sunrise creating the relationships to make it happen.
