Framingham Defeats Natick 2-1 To Win Wheeler Cup; Qualifies For Post-Season Play

NATICK – With goals by Jared Nardizzi and Lucas Almeida the Framingham High boys soccer team defeated Natick High 2-1 to win the annual George Wheeler Memorial Soccer Cup Saturday night.

Not only was it a huge win over rival Natick, the victory qualified the Flyers for post-season play, said head coach Jon Wood.

The Flyers are now 8-5-3 on the season.

Both Flyer goals were scored in the first half of the game at Natick High.

Nick Bernardi and David Hatfield were excellent on defense, said Wood.

Next up for the Flyers is a game against the Warriors of Brookline High on Thursday.
