Ronald J. Mogavero, 79, of Framingham formerly of Buffalo, NY, died suddenly on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 with his family by his side.
Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph & Evelyn (Flint) Mogavero.
He was a 1960 graduate of the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. He went on to earn his Masters from Washington University in St. Louis and did post graduate work at Northwestern University in Chicago.
Later in his professional career he formed and owned East Pond Analytics Consulting Firm, named after his favorite vacation spot in Oakland, Maine, where he spent the last 35 summers.
Over the years he was a Boy Scout leader, an avid hockey player and coach, and a member of the Rusty Blades in Worcester. He was a permanent fixture at his grandchildren’s hockey games. He enjoyed wooden boat building, restoring antique motors, and was a member of the Antique Outboard Motor Club.
He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Lois (Heckel), a beloved father to his children, Greg & his wife Ilene of Needham, Jill Mann & her partner Jim Supple of Ashland, and Sue McGrann & her husband Sean of Framingham, and a cherished Papa and Grandpa to his 8 grandchildren, Jake, Kelly, Hannah, Emily, Eric, Elizabeth, Anthony, and Nicholas. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Richard and his sister, Shirley Vitello.
Family and friends will honor and remember his life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street in Framingham on Sunday October 15 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Services and interment will be private.
