HINGHAM – The Framingham High girls cross country team opened the season with two losses at Wampatuck State Park in Hingham yesterday, Sept. 13.
The Flyers lost to the Weymouth Wildcats 15-47 and lost to the Needham Rockets 15-50.
“Everyone ran a good first race getting the cobwebs out starting the season on a positive note,” said new head coach Jill Conroy.
“The girls have been putting in 100 percent effort at practice and their positive and determined attitudes really showed during their races,” said Conroy. “I see a bright future for our team filled with person records.”
Freshman Mackenzie Veradini finished 13th overall, and first for the Flyers, in 20.31 minutes on the 2.8 mile course.
Framingham sophomore Tess Robinson finished 16th overall in 20.45 minutes. She was the second fastest Flyer runner .
Paige Fisher, a Framingham sophomore, finished in 20.59 minutes, and 19th overall.
Junior Jenna Riedl, finished 20th overall, in 21 minutes flat.
Flyers senior co-captain Mayra Haddad finished in 21.57 minutes.
Junior Maddie Klein finished 29th overall in 22.27 minutes.
Sophomore Kirsten Harrod finished 30th overall in 22.45 minutes for Framingham.
The Flyers are now 0-2 on the season.
The next meet is Sept. 18 in Newton.
