FRAMINGHAM – Team Framingham Steering Committee Chair Jenifer Feaster today, Sept. 14, announced that the 2018 Team Framingham Boston Marathon application period will open on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
The application period will run from Monday October 2 through 4 p.m. on Monday November 27.
The random selection to choose the 22 Team Framingham 2018 runners will be held on Monday, December 4 at the Memorial Building.
The first team meeting and team training run will both be scheduled for the week of December 11.
Applications and program guidelines will be posted on the town’s website on Monday October 2.
As in the previous four years of the Team Framingham program residents of Framingham or Framingham town and school employees are eligible to apply. The full set of guidelines for applying will be available on October 2. They are unchanged from previous years.
The Team Framingham program has been extraordinarily successful since its inception in 2014.
Close to $269,000 has been raised by team runners for various Framingham based charities. 88 of 89 Team Framingham runners have successfully completed the Boston Marathon due in part to the excellent program put on by the Team Framingham Steering Committee and running mentors from the Greater Framingham Running Club.
Details on the charity selection process for the 2018 program will be announced later next week. The Framingham Board of Selectmen is scheduled to vote on changes to the selection process at its meeting Tuesday September 19.
