She was the loving wife of Curtis (Randy) to whom she was married for nearly 37 years.
Farrar was the devoted mother of two, Jeffrey Farrar of Holbrook, and Janine Cox of Stoughton, along with their respective spouses Janelle and Donald.
She was the adoring grandmother called “Gam” to Brennan, Gustin and Logan. She is the beloved daughter of Sally Sweeney of Orlando, FL. Nancy leaves her brothers and sisters: Michael Sweeney and wife Marilyn of Waltham; Steven Sweeney of Punta Gorda, FL; Janice Mathey of Orlando, FL; Terry Mathieu and husband Eddie of Sangerville, ME; Maryellen Lewis and husband Reed of Hudson, and Sally Rigione and husband Vaughn of Westford. She was predeceased by her father, John Sweeney, and brother, John Sweeney, Jr. Nancy will be missed dearly by family and friends.
She was born and raised in Waltham, where she graduated from Waltham High School in 1979.
She was a U.S. Department of Defense employee for over 30 years starting out at the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England then transferred to the U.S. Army in Natick and was working until her recent illness for the ILSC, Business Management Directorate Manpower Integration as a Management Analyst.
Farrar loved spending time with family, particularly her grandsons who brought her unending joy.
She was also adored by her 3 cats. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, September 6, from 3 to 6:30 p. m. held at at the MetroWest Funeral & Cremation Services of Wadsworth-Chiappini, 318 Union Ave., Framingham immediately followed by a service.
Guests are encouraged to wear purple, which was Nancy’s favorite color.
Burial will be private.
