FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Fine and Performing Arts Department has announced the hiring of a new drama teacher for Fuller Middle School.
The previous teacher Teri Shea is now full-time at Cameron Middle School.
Hired by the district is George Kalivas. He will be teaching drama for grades 6 – 8 as well as direct the school’s main stage productions.
Originally from Lowell, hewent on to study theatre at UMass Amherst and later earned his Masters Degree in Theatre Education at Emerson College in 2015.
Kalivas taught previously for 4 years in Lowell and is currently the managing director for a non-profit educational theatre company in Boxford called Wide Eyes Theatre Company.
He believes strongly believes in the transformative power of the arts and theater’s ability to create community.
Fuller students will stage Seussical Jr. Shows will be Dec. 1-2, 2017.
