FRAMINGHAM – McCarthy Elementary School will have an interim principal for the 2017-18 school year.
On the last day of the 2016-17 school year, Principal Matthew Hanlon submitted his resignation.
Over the summer, a 12-member screening committee reviewed applications and interviewed candidates and recommended two finalists for principal.
Last Thursday, parents and staff got a chance to meet the finalists Celeste Hoeg and Meghan Welch.
Framingham Source has learned that Superintendent Bob Tremblay would prefer to have a second search for a new principal and will appoint an interim principal for the 2017-18 school year.
Assistant Principal Jean Nolan was named interim principal after Hanlon resigned, but she will resume her role as assistant principal at McCarthy Elementary for the 2017-18 school year, Source has learned.
