Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus Endorses Spicer For Framingham Mayor

The following is a press release

BOSTON – The Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus Political Action Committee announced today that it has endorsed Yvonne Spicer in her campaign to become the inaugural Mayor of Framingham, MA.

Spicer was among 19 women the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus endorsed who are seeking election in municipal races across Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus has not traditionally endorsed candidates at the municipal level, but chose to do so this year in response to the groundswell of women seeking public office.

“We are pleased to endorse such terrific women candidates who know that municipal government is where the rubber meets the road when it comes to advocating for the issues women and their families care deeply about,” said Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus PAC Co-Chair Linnea Walsh. “MWPC PAC endorsed candidates are highly accomplished in their own right and believe in the goals of political parity.”

Spicer said she is “honored to be endorsed by the MWPC.”

“I appreciate the support and tremendous vote of confidence. And every day I strive to earn that same vote of confidence from each and every Framingham resident so that we can move our new city government forward in the right direction. I believe in open, collaborative government where everyone’s voice is heard and that’s why I’m running as The People’s Mayor of Framingham. As a community we have tremendous upside,” she said in a press release.

There will be a preliminary election September 26, 2017 followed by a general election November 7, 2017.
