MARLBOROUGH – Marlborough’s cable access station recently reported the City of Marlborough is considering a solar-powered pod transportation system.
Transit X said the pods are a “privately-funded shared mobility network with the convenience, capacity, and cost to replace buses, trains, cars, trucks, and short flights.”
The pods would travel 45 mph along main roads and 135 mph along highways.
“It’s no wonder why we say that our pods really fly,” said the Transit X marketing materials.
The pods are carbon-free and create zero pollution. The solar cells on the track provide the energy to charge pods.
