Susan Schuler has been a gift to Brophy School in more than one capacity.
Sue was first hired as the Technology Aide at Brophy four years ago.
The staff recalls her cheerful demeanor and willingness to help with all technology dilemmas. No job was too big or too small. Sue seemed to go to the ends of the earth to find the right charger, a new cord, or to help fix a program on a laptop.
Three years ago when the Office Manager position at Brophy became available, Sue applied and was the unanimous choice of the hiring committee. She is often the first person one talks to when calling or coming into our office.
Her smiling face and helpful attitude puts parents, children and staff at ease.
When Sue was first hired for the front office, Brophy did not have a bilingual secretary.
Sue, a native English speaker, took it upon herself to take an online Spanish course, and she learned some basic conversational Spanish so she could at least answer the phone and direct parents to the correct person.
Though her days are very busy, Sue never makes anyone feel like they are bothering her, or that their questions or concerns are unimportant. She always has a kind word for a child or an adult. She has also mastered the fine art of fixing a jammed copy machine, and replaces the toner cartridges before we even know they are empty!
In addition to her managerial position, Sue also functions at various times as the nurse, the principal, the psychologist, and last but not least, the chief of the fire drills! Sue enjoys Zumba and Yoga, and spending time with her daughter, Presley, and husband, Chuck. She loves everything about Brophy School…the students, families and staff. Sue, Brophy School loves you!
