YOU ARE SPECIAL: Doris Chiero – Wilson Elementary

Editor’s Note: This is one in a series of reports on the 2017 You Are Special award winners from the 25th Annual Salute To Framingham. The report below was written by the building principal. Photo courtesy.

Doris Chiero is a fourth grade teacher at Woodrow Wilson who is retiring at the end of this school year.

She has worked in Framingham Public Schools for 30 years – 29 at Woodrow Wilson and one at Barbieri.

She was hired as an assistant in 1987 for grades 1-3. In 1989, she was hired as a grade 3 classroom teacher.

She has also taught in grades 1-5 and co-taught in a special education inclusion classroom.

Doris was an integral part of the International Baccalaureate pilot at Wilson and was on the team that started the journey of IB.

She is a very caring teacher, lifelong learner, and has never lost that zeal for improving the lives of her students. We will all truly miss her.
