Flyer Walkup Finishes 24th at State Heptathlon

 NORTH READING  – Framingham High sophomore Laura Walkup finished 24th overall in the state’s heptathlon, said Framingham Track Coach Chris Collins.

Walkup, a captain on the outdoor track team, finished with 2,602 points in the event held in North Reading.

She set a personal record in the javelin, the 200-meter, shot put, and the hurdle events.

Senior captain Madelyn Maliewski finished 31st overall, with 2,487 points. She had a personal best in the hurdles and javelin events.

Freshman Tess Robinson finished 40th overall with 2.123 points.

Sophomore Clara Small, finished 41st overall with 2.083 points

This event ends the Framingham High girls outdoor tracks eason.

“Many thanks to my assistant coaches for their long season and help through this all; Stewart McKenzie, Alissa Howell, Jill Conroy, and Delaney Taylor,” said Collins.
