The McCarthy School is very pleased to honor Laurel Martin for her valuable contributions to our school.
As a member of our kindergarten team for the past eight years, Laurel has played an integral part in developing those positive first impressions for our kindergarten students as they start their school careers. She is an accomplished educator who has fostered great relationships with her students, parents, and other staff members.
Laurel has also taken on additional responsibilities with school improvement. She has been an active teacher leader in staff development, working with others on academic conversations and instruction for our English learners.
Most recently Laurel embraced her role as PBIS coach. She has worked to develop the expectation lessons that we use throughout the school and has led the efforts to make sure our students are continuously working on their STAR behavior at McCarthy.
