FRAMINGHAM – The community came out Friday night to help raise money for a Potter Road School third grade student, recently diagnosed with stage two medulloblastoma, a cancerous brain tumor.
Hundreds attended the Night For Ismaile at Edwards Church last night, June 2 for Ismaile DaSilva,
Due to his sickness, he is unable to attend school and his parents have had to severely cut back their hours at work to attend to his medical needs.
The decrease in income and ever-rising cost of medical treatments has put the DaSilva family in a precarious position, said organizers.
Last night’s event raised more than $5,100 said Sarah Bowers.
She and Potter Road Elementary third grade teacher organized last night’s two-hour event, which include food, music, raffles, a magic show by JoJo, and the Framingham High School drumline. Local vendors, including ThirtyOne and LulaRoe also were selling products, with proceeds go to the DaSilva family.
