FRAMINGHAM – Last night, members of the Framingham Teachers Association came before the School Committee to discuss the loss of positions at the elementary school level.
Tonight, Framingham Superintendent Bob Tremblay released the following statement: “In consideration of the Title 1 funding matter that was raised at the School Committee meeting on Tuesday evening, I want to underscore our interest in providing all of our schools with the resources they need in order to meet the needs of all of our students.”
“Among our first priorities – as a district leadership team – is looking at ways to recoup those positions that were lost through grant funding, particularly as we work to lift our most challenged schools,” said Tremblay.
“Since our discovery of this funding allocation challenge and reduction, we are committed to doing all that we can to best meet the needs of our Level 3 schools in particular,” said Tremblay.
“While I cannot promise that every lost position can be reinstated, I want to assure our school community that we are committed to allocating resources as needed in the wake of this difficult and upsetting funding reduction,” said Tremblay tonight, May 24.
