TJX STAR Employees Place Flags On Veterans Graves In Honor of Memorial Day

FRAMINGHAM  – This past Wednesday, members of the TJX STAR Associate Resource Group placed flags at the St. Tarcisius cemetery.

The STAR ARG is one of six groups, that fall under the umbrella of Diversity and Inclusion and is not exclusive to veterans.

Members of the Group are all volunteer and led by associates.

The STAR (Supporting TJX Armed Forces Relation) Group is run by Matthew DeMar, a retired US Marine Sergeant OIF vet and Alfredo Garcia CWO in the Army Reserves and OIF Vet.

“We had 12 associates from both the Framingham Home office and Marlborough (west campus). Of the 12 associates we had a mix of both vets and associates that have a general interest. This was a great event to not only give back to our community but to build a stronger associate to veteran community within TJX,” said DeMar.

A portion of the STAR mission is to maintain a strong presence with talent acquisition to include recruitment and assimilation, said DeMar.

Also, to develop, maintain and help support community based organization and lastly, to support TJX associates in providing guidance and direction regarding associates needs aligns with military life issues, he said.

TJX Corp.’s headquarters is in Framingham.
