FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Athletic Director Paul Spear announced today, May 16, he has hired Jason Gosselin to be the high school’s new varsity boys basketball coach.
He will replace Ben Torbert, who is leaving Framingham High along with his wife Framingham High principal Elyse Torbert at the end of the school year. The couple and their family are moving to the West coast.
Gosselin had a successful playing career in high school, and played 4 years at Worcester State where in his senior year he was captain, said Spear.
He should be a familiar name for Framingham, as he has been coaching in town with Torbert the last five years as an assistant coach.
He played a major role in the Flyers last two successful tournament qualification seasons. Many of the current players and past players that he has coached regard him as the reason behind their personal success, said Spear.
Gosselin resides in Framingham with his wife Lilia, his 3 year old daughter Willow, and his son Jeremiah.
