Composting Workshop at Framingham Library Thursday

FRAMINGHAM – Mike Croci and Brigitte Griffin will lead a 75-minute collaborative workshop on composting with a focus on the environmental impact of putting compostable material back into our soil instead of landfills at the Framingham Public Library on Thursay, May 18 at 7 p.m.

The free event will take place at the main Framingham Library.

The Framingham Compost Crew will:

* Explain what compost is and how the breakdown process is different in a healthy compost system vs. in a landfill
* Give tips and techniques for how to set up a home composting system.
* Talk about compost maintenance and use of the end product.
* Explain about current community composting options and possible town wide options for the future.

The Framingham Compost Crew is a community organization which aims to help individuals and groups in our community begin composting or expand their current composting capabilities.

Their goal is to keep “trash” out of landfills that could otherwise be turned into “black gold”.
