Rockets Blast Past Flyers 82-54

NEEDHAM – The Framingham High girls outdoor track team lost to Needham High Wednesday afternoon on the road.

The Rockets won 82-54.

The Flyers won the relay in 50.2 seconds. Members of the relay were Grace Poku, Zoie Carter, Ashley Wilson, and Leche Small-brown.

Poku won the 100-meter dash 12.7 seconds defeating Needham’s Claudia Sesso, who finished at 12.8 seconds. Needham finished third. Framingham’s Laura Walkup finished fourth in 13.8 seconds, a personal record, and sophomore Kelly O’Callaghan finished sixth for Framingham with a personal record time of 14 seconds flat.

Carter won the 200-meter race in 26.6 seconds. Needham’s Harper Meek finished second, with Framingham senior Wilson third in a personal record time of 27.2 seconds.

Needham freshman Trintje Nydam won the 400-meter race in 62.2 seconds. Sophmore Saisha Small-Brown and Clara Small captured second and third place. Small’s time of 66.5 seconds was a personal record.

Junior Nicole Stevens won the 80-meter race in 2:23.7 minutes for Needham. Framingham freshman Maria Martinez Anzola finished third in 2:49.4 minutes, a personal record time.

Sophomore Talia Barrett won the mile in 5:57.2 minutes for Needham. Freshman Tess Robinson finished second for the Flyers in a personal record time of 5:57.8 minutes. Needham also took third place.

Needham swept the 2-mile race.

Junior Michelle Hom won the 100-meter hurdles for Framingham in 18.5 seconds. Needham took second and third place.

Senior Marybeth Rockett won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:16 minutes for the Rockets. Madelyn Malieswski finished second with a person record of 1:19.1 minutes and senior Aleeza Zilberman was third in a personal record time of 1:24.2 minutes.

Malieskswi won the shot put event for the Flyers with a throw of 26-feet, 9-inches, a person record. Needham took second and third place.

Needham swept the javelin event.

In the discus, junior Eluisa Mendes finished second for Framingham with a personal record throw of 49-feet, 8-inches.

Needham swept the high jump event.

Needham’s Sesso won the long jump with a leap of 15-feet 9-inches. Malieswski finished second with a personal record of 14-feet, 11 inches. Freshman Tess Robinson finished third for Framingham with a personal record of 13-feet, 6-inches. Sophomore Clara Small had a personal record in fourth place with a leap of 12-feet, 9-inches.

Framingham’s Walkup won the triple jump with a personal record of 33-feet, 7-inches. Mayara Haddad finished second with 29-feet, 4-inches. Sophomore Macey McEnaney finished fourth with a person record of 27-feet, 7-5-inches.
