FRAMINGHAM – Selectmen approved new parking restrictions for River Street.
The Framingham Traffic and Roadway Safety Committee was asked to consider making River Street resident parking only, after a resident complained about a lot of commercial vehicles on the street.
After review by the Committee, it was determined that a 3-hour parking restriction might be a better option than the resident only restriction, said Town Engineer Eric Johnson.
“It is much easier to enforce,” he added.
The Traffic and Roadway Safety Committee voted to recommend 3-hour parking and eliminate the “odd-even” restriction. There would be no parking on one side and 3-hour parking on the other side. The Committee also voted to install better “One-Way” and “Do Not Enter” signs.
Selectmen approved the Committee’s recommendation at its school vacation week meeting.
