SLIDESHOW: Flyers Defeat Red Hawks 14-6

FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High’s baseball team defeated the Red Hawks of Natick 14-6 at Bowditch Field Wednesday afternoon.

The win gives the Flyers a record of 2-2, with a game against Holliston High on Friday.

While the first two innings were back and forth the Flyers opened up the third inning with a bang. With Trevor Smith on first base and Michael Gill on third base, Smith stole second base to get into scoring position. Jared Brockway singled to left scoring Gill (3-4 on the day with 4 runs scored) and Jared Marifiote walked.

Jake Modica then walked before Joe Mescal hit a ground rule double to deep center field which opened the game up for the Flyers as they took a 9-5 lead there and would not look back.

Tommy Clark (3 hits on the day) then singled to bring in Mescal to make it 10-5.

Framingham added two more runs in the fourth inning on base hits by Jake Brockway and Tommy Clark to extend their lead to 12-5

Every Framingham starter reached base at least once.

Natick’s Austin Twiss has 2 hits and an RBI.

Joe Mescal pitched 5 inning of relief to get the win for the Flyers.
