WEYMOUTH – Three Framingham Flyers qualified for the state track meet yesterday, April 12, against the Wildcats.
But the Flyers girls outdoor track team lost to Weymouth High on the road 96-40.
Framingham is now 0-2, with the home opener on April 26.
Senior captain Ashley Wilson won the hurdles event in 15.6 seconds. Her time qualified her for the state meet, said head coach Chris Collins.
Sophomores Grace Poku and Leche Small-Brown also qualified for the state meet, with wins in their individual events.
Poku won the 100 dash in 12.7 seconds. Teammate Zoie Carter finished third in 13 seconds flat.
Small-Brown on the 200-meter race in 27 seconds. Her sister Saisha Small-brown finished in third place for Framingham in 27.9 seconds.
The Flyers relay team won the 4X400 in 4:35.40 minutes. On the relay was freshman Tess Robinson, Wilson, sophomore Clara Small and senior captain Jenny Ribeiro.
Ribeiro won the 800-meter race in 2:31 minutes. She also finished third in the long jump with a leap of 14-feet, 7-inches.
Sophomore Laura Walkup won the long jump in 15-feet, 4-inches. She also finished second in the high jump at 4-feet-4-inches.
Carter finished second in the 400-meter race in 64.6 seconds.
Senior Aleeza Zilberman finished third in the 400-meter hurdles. Her time was 1:24.7 minutes.
