Editor’s Note: The Boston Marathon is Monday, April 17. Framingham Source will profile several of the Team Framingham runners raising money for 6 Framingham based charities between March 25 and Marathon Monday. This is the fourth profile.
# of Marathons: No, this will be my third Marathon
# of Boston Marathons: YES! I am over the moon excited to make the 26.2 mile trek from Hopkinton to Boylston street!
Why run Boston?: There is a reason everyone wants to run Boston.… Boston Marathon is unlike any other in the world. The city is electric, the energy indescribable. It is the oldest marathon in the country and I want to write my name on that wall of history. I have waited for years to slip my toes over that starting threshold into the sea of thousands of other runners, to #BeBoston.
What charity are you raising money for? I have the extreme privilege of running the Boston Marathon on behalf of the amazing organization Hoops and Homework!
Hoops and homework is a local, non-profit organization that provides support to at-risk kids in the Framingham area. Everything from food, clothing, academic tutors, athletic coaches, emotional guidance, a safe harbor for our children!
What is your goal for the 2017 Boston Marathon? My goal is to have fun! To savory every moment of the experience and to give back to my community.
Linn said she has “trained for marathons before, but this has been the BEST experience.”
“Being apart of a team, having the support of fellow runners pushing me outside of my comfort zone. I am so grateful,” said Linn.
