SLIDESHOW: McCarthy Elementary Celebrates Read Across America Week 2017

FRAMINGHAM – McCarthy Elementary School celebrated Read Across America Week.

On Monday, Feb. 27, the entire school dropped everything and read for 20 minutes. On Tuesday, author Bill Harley came to visit the students at the K through grade 5 school.

On Thursday, everyone in the school, students, teachers, and staff were encouraged to wear red and white, and green eggs were served at lunch.

But yesterday, March 3, teachers and students dressed up like their favorite storybook character or author.

Third grade staff dressed up as characters from Dr. Seuss’ book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

Teacher Kathy Kenney-Marshall dressed up as Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs.

The school’s vice principal Jean Nolan was Junie B. Jones for the day.
