PHOTOS: Stapleton Celebrates Read Across America Day With Guest Readers

FRAMINGHAM – Stapleton Elementary celebrated Read Across America Day with guest readers in many of their classrooms on Thursday, March 2.

Students kicked off Read Across Stapleton day by taking a school-wide reading oath. Later they participated in a school-wide reading block and classroom door-decorating contest.

Some of the guest readers included State Rep. Chris Walsh, State Rep. Jack Lewis, and Interim Superintendent of Schools Edward Gotgart.

Framingham Assistant Fire Chief Mike Dutcher read Oh, The Place You Will Go by Dr. Seuss to a class.

Town of Framingham Community Intervention Specialist Kelly Hagerty talked about service dogs and read a book about NEADS dogs.

Stapleton Assistant principal Allison Benabdallah read to a classroom, and physical education teacher Ellen Margiotta, talked about her love for the Harry Potter books.

Every student ended the day by receiving a new book to bring home to read with their families.
