Flyer Ogata Repeats As State Wrestling Champion; Framingham Finishes in 9th Place

METHUEN – Framingham High senior Pablo Ogata repeated as state champion Saturday at the Division 1 State Championships in Methuen.

Ogata, a captain for the Framingham High wrestling team, won the 138 pound weight class, going 4-0 yesterday.

Framingham finished in ninth place overall at the Division 1 meet, with a total of 63 points.

Springfield Central won the state meet with 107 points. Chelmsford and Lincoln-Sudbury tied for second place with 100 points out of 44 teams.

Ogata defeated Billy Dunn of Lincoln-Sudbury in the finals of the 138 pound weight class. He defeated opponent from Newton South, Lowell and Springfield to make it to the finals.

Framingham senior captain Ikaro Monteiro and junior Dylan O’Brien both finished fourth at the state meet, to qualify with Ogata for the all-state meet.

Flyers Adam Levine and Willie Brou both lost opening round matches yesterday.

Framingham sophomore Josue Bullux won his opening round, but lost in the next round.
