Flyers Finish 4th at Bay State Conference Championship

BROOKLINE – The Framingham High boys swim & dive team finished fourth overall at the Bay State Conference championship meet at Brookline High on Thursday, Feb. 2.

Needham won the championship, with Wellesley second and Natick High third.

Junior captain Cole Bassett (pictured) won the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke titles for the Flyers.

Bassett finished the speed event in 22.63 seconds.

He touched the wall first in the backstroke in 55.24 seconds.

The Flyers relay teams finished second and third at the Conference championship meet.

In the 200-yard medley relay Ray Wong, Cole Geiser, Joshua Cohen and Bassett finished third in 1:45.75 minutes.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay Wong, Leone Kisler, Cohen and Bassett finished fourth in 1:35.80 minutes.

Junior captain Aidan O’leary finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle.

Freshman Kisler finished ififth in the 200-yard individual medley.

On Wednesday, at NewtonNorth High School, junior diver Sean Andrews of Framingham won the Bay State Conference diving champioship title.
