Born in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Margaret (McDonald) Ladas.
She was the wife to the late Frederick Norton who died in 1987.
She graduated from Quincy High School and received her Bachelor and Master’s Degree from Boston College.
Mrs. Norton taught in the Medfield Middle School, Barbieri Middle School in Framingham and Walsh Middle School in Framingham and retired in 1992. After retirement, she volunteered at Samaritans in Framingham.
She is survived by her children, Frederick A. Norton and his wife Delvis of CA, William V. Norton and his wife Lea of Framingham and Mary Norton Derdul and her husband John of NC; grandchildren, Meghan Quintin, Andrea Weiss, Joseph Norton, Ian Norton, Daniel Norton, Julie Norton, Patrick Derdul and Olivia Derdul; great grandchildren, Ava and Connor Quintin, Colton Weiss and Charlotte Snow. Also, survived by her sister, Phyllis Gantley of Quincy, longtime best friend Sister Jeanne Wilcox and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister to the late Louis, Donald, Leo and Paul Ladas.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Residence at Valley Farm in Ashland and Timothy Daniels House in Holliston for their comfort and support given to her and her family.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her funeral on Monday, January 30 at 9 a.m. from the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street in Framingham, followed by her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, 251 Concord St. (Rt. 126), Framingham.
Burial will take place on a later date at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to the Marist Missionary Sisters, 349 Grove St., Waltham, MA 02453.
