Ashland Airman, 26, Died on New Mexico Air Force Base

CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. – Cannon Air Force Base said an Ashland native died in New Mexico, after collapsing while exercising.

The Base said Senior Airman Deanna Richards, 26, who graduated from Ashland High, collapsed on Friday morning, January 20.

She was brought to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The cause of the death is under investigation.

Richards worked as an operations management journeyman at the Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron.

A memorial service is planned Wednesday at the base chapel. Additional service will be held in Massachusetts, yet to be announced.
