Framingham Wrestlers Defeat Tigers 45-26, Finishing The Match With 4 Pins

NEWTON – Juniors pave the way on Wednesday night, as the Framingham Flyers wrestling team defeated the Newton North Tigers 45-26, for a Bay State Conference victory.

With Framingham trailing 26-21, the last four matches of the night would send four juniors to the mats with the hopes they could all compete and take home a win..

Junior Dylan O’Brien, wrestling at 180-pounds pinned his opponent to get things going for the Flyers, followed by a pin by Junior Robbie Billstein wrestling at 195-pounds for the Flyers.

With a slight lead by the Framingham Flyers, junior Alex Smith wrestling at 220-pounds stepped on the mats for the Flyers and grabbed the Flyers its third pin and third win in a row.

The last night of the match would feature junior Flyers heavyweight Trevor Smith, who did not disappoint, as he pinned his opponent in the first period to end the meet with four consecutive pins and four wins.

Other Framingham wins by pins against the Tigers were Jose Bullux, senior Joe Tolson, and captain Pablo Ogata.

The Flyers next match will be a quad-match Saturday, January 18, starting at 3 p.m. at Framingham High School, as they will compete against, Milton, Dedham, and Needham.
