5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Monday, November 28

1 Members of the Framingham Charter Commission will attend the Town-Wide PTO Meeting tonight at 7 at Barbieri Elementary School. They will discuss the draft charter that will be presented to voters in April 2017. The majority of the Charter Commission is pushing for the Town of Framingham to become a City with a Mayor, 11 City-Councilors and increasing the School Committee to 9 members plus the mayor.

 

2. Today is the deadline to apply for the Team Framingham 2017 lottery. Applications are due by 4 p.m. today, November 28. Click here for more details.

 

3. Today is the start of the winter sports season for Framingham High, Keefe Technical, and Marian High. Many sports teams will begin holding tryouts today.

 

 

4. Wednesday, Nov. 30 is the deadline to apply to be a member of the screening committee that will hire the next Superintendent of Schools for Framingham. The deadline was extended when less than 20 people applied. There were more than 50 people who applied for the last search that hired Stacy Scott. 5. Just a reminder, there will be brush collection this week, along with trash and recyclables.
