5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Tuesday, Nov 22

1  Several groups in Framingham are asking residents to take a stand against hateful words and ethnic and racial bullying by attending a rally at the intersections of Route 135 and 126 tonight at 5.  The Framingham Standout is sponsored by Framingham Teachers Association, Interfaith Clergy Association, Welcoming Framingham, MetroWest Showing UP for Racial Justice, and Framingham Coming Together.

 

2. Tonight at 7, the Framingham School Committee will be holding a workshop on the search for a new superintendent of schools. Tomorrow, Nov 23, is the deadline for individuals to submit applications to serve on the search committee.

 

3. Tomorrow is an early release day for Framingham Public School students. No lunch will be served.

Framingham High students will only have a couple of classes tomorrow, as besides the annual football pep rally, there is a unity photo planned during class time. Students are asked to wear blue & white and leave the building for an outdoor photo. Students who don’t wish to participate can stay in the cafeteria. The pep rally starts at 10 a.m. and is optional for students. Students not attending the rally must leave the building.

 

4. Today is the final day for the United Way of Tri-County at the Pearl Street Cafe & Cupboard.

 

5. Framingham State University basketball doubleheader tonight. The women’s team will host Lasell College at 6 p.m. The men’s team will Regis at 8 p.m.
