VIDEO & SLIDESHOW: Hemenway’s Fun Run Raises More Than $22,000

FRAMINGHAM – Hemenway Elementary School students in grades kindergarten through five were challenged to run 30-plus laps as part of this year’s first-ever Fun Run. Parents, family, and friends pledged money per lap the students completed.

Hemenway Elementary raised more than $22,000 with this new fundraiser.

Hemenway School’s first Fun Run has been a huge success in many ways,” said Principal Liz Simon. “We have been delighted with the enthusiasm and school spirit that our students have exhibited throughout the eight days that the Boosterthon team has been involved with the Hemenway community.”

“Hemenway has always enjoyed a positive school culture of students, staff and parents working to ensure that all students are included, feel valued and are learning and achieving at high levels.  The team work and pride that students have exhibited during the past week and a half is exciting and contagious…we are looking forward to continuing to build on our already positive school culture., ” wrote Simon to parents.

Members of the Framingham State University hockey team volunteered their time during the fundraiser yesterday, Nov. 2.
