Way’s 5K4Kids Raises $107,000; Natick Woman Win $5,000 Dream Vacation

FRAMINGHAM – Wayside Youth & Family Support Network, an organization based in Framingham, announced its 7th Annual 5K4Kids Run/Walk and Halloween Festival on Saturday raised more than $107,000 this year, making it our most successful year yet.

Since the 5K4Kids launched in 2010, the organization has raised more than $500,000.

Despite the drizzly morning, 200 runners participated in the 5K race, many dressed in creative costumes. After the race, runners and walkers and their families headed over the to school gym, where to the family festival. The event had music, food, games and kids’ activities.

“We are grateful to everyone who helped make it a success, said Wayside. From our sponsors and donors to everyone who  bought a raffle ticket, volunteered, ran or walked the 5-kilometer course, you have made an important difference in the lives of kids and families,” said Wayside.

Framingham’s Sam Burgess won the race. For a list of other winners, and Framingham Source’s coverage of the event, click here.

Ashley Ferullo of Natick won the $5KGetaway Raffle. Ashley and her family receive a $5,000 travel voucher to create their dream vacation, said Wayside.
